W. D. GANN'S SWING TRADING & SWING CHART METHOD
W. D. Gann published a plethora of “swing charts.” But his true method of swing trading technique was different than the pictures he displayed to the public. However, these important charts convey the blueprint for Gann’s directions regarding his true swing method.
Related to his ‘Mechanical Method,’ Gann’s swing trading method is extremely efficient and clean. It follows a very ancient pattern inherent in the US Indexes. In his book, “How To Make Profits On Commodities,” Gann’s outline of the book marks a divergence from his previous writings. He begins the book with the swing trading method and spends a much larger part of this work expounding on it.
As Gann got up there in age, he was finding that his astro and numerology techniques were going over his student’s heads. The beauty of Gann’s swing trading is that it functions just fine without astro and numerology. But it can be combined with any of these methods to further enhance one’s trading.
After years of studying decoding, we have cracked the code and this important technique. Below to the left you will see the back-testing table for trading the lowest quantity allowable (1 contract target lot, 1 contract runner lot) ES futures contracts with the fixed set of rules Gann provided over a number of his written works. Each entry, stop, target, and move-to-breakeven is addressed for every entry.

GANN: MASTER THE MARKETS" Training. It must be pointed out that this method employs larger targets, stops, and market exposure than Gann's mechanical Method, which is used to trade shorter swings. A larger amount of capital will be required.
